I just ran some ILL reports from last week (Friday, April 18 through Thursday, April 24)--immediately after the Music Appreciation paper was due. Up to this point in the semester, an average of less than 120 books per week have been returned to the lending library as part of our ILL processing. Last week we returned 370 items that had been borrowed through interlibrary loan. Returning an item involves pulling the paperwork for the items, packaging the materials, and updating the status of the requests in two separate software systems. The second highest week for the semeseter (so far) is the week before spring break when 212 items were returned.
I just want to publicly thank our Library Students Assistants who spend so much of their time on ILL--getting our students and faculty the needed materials. And especially last week for working so steadily on the literally piles of materials that all needed packaged for return all at once!
Also, thanks to the mailroom for getting all the packages mailed out!
