Future of the PHC Library

As the library staff are preparing for the coming year, we are re-evaluating the value and use of social networking pieces for the library.

- Is this blog being read? What would make it more useful to users? Is it worth maintaining?

- Is our PHC Library Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Purcellville-VA/Patrick-Henry-College-Library/18959282864?ref=share) at all useful? What would make it more useful to users? Is it worth maintaining?

- The PHCLibrarian is not IM'd very often. Is this because students are not interested in talking to the librarians by IM? We aren't responding properly to IM messages? Students don't know/remember the option? Should we keep it? Change it?

- We are working on building research guides for different subject areas. For the moment, we are planning to put them in the Library section of the PHC website. Where would students like to find them? What would students like to see in a research guide? (OK, not exactly social networking as a static webpage, but some libraries use blogs or wikis to post research guides.)

If you have ideas about any of these questions or other aspects of library service, we would appreciate hearing from you.
